A user-driven technology

The Calypso technology specifies the contactless transaction between a contactless card and a reader, the linchpin of the electronic ticketing system.

The Calypso card-terminal transaction is:

• fast and secure: optimizing the transaction time, ensuring the data uthentication and integrity,
• standardized and future proof: by using microprocessor cards compliant with standards (ISO 14443 and CEN/TS 16794 for the contactless interface, ISO 7816-4 for the file structures and commands, and CEN ENV1545 for the transit data definition),
• interoperable: helping to build interoperability upon the standard Calypso specifications,
• multi-application: a range of cards is available for every need (simple transit card, with an electronic purse, with multiple applications such as access to car parks, entrance to museums, sports events, conventions, access to tourist facilities…).
